A new, futuristic looking building has emerged on the historic plot of the former »Café Felsche« on Augustusplatz in Leipzig. The Dutch firm of architects, Erick van Egeraat, designed the building and incorporated it in the new, inner-city university complex.

There is a Vapiano restaurant and a chemist’s on the ground floor and first floor of the building, which marks the start of the pedestrian zone on Grimmaische Strasse. Above them are top-location offices and so-called “service apartments” for visitors to the city.
