A new shopping centre opened in October 2012 right at the heart of the historic town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg, which is on the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage sites. The centre with its 55 domestic, international and regional retailers has ideally complemented the trading landscape at the heart of Wittenberg, which largely consists of small shops.
The new shopping centre creates retail, eating and services space measuring 13,500 square metres on two floors and has 316 parking spaces in a multi-storey car park and an underground garage in a modern style, carefully designed to take into account the historic surroundings. The ARSENAL became the focal point of shopping in the town’s catchment area as soon as it opened. MIB developed the concept for the ARSENAL in conjunction with the Weis & Volkmann firm of architects in Leipzig and DunnettCraven in London.
Completion took place in cooperation with OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH, a company owned by the Hessen-Thüringen State Bank. The tenants in the shopping centre include H&M, Expert Deutschland, Rewe, Depot, Gerry Weber, Reno, Rossmann, Esprit, s.Oliver, TomTailor, StreetOne, Cecil, Engbers, Deichmann, Vodafone, Parfümerie Flair, Bijou Brigitte, Bonita, Tamaris, Klier, Chelsea/Camp David, mister*lady, Thalia, Bäckerei Steinecke, McPaper, Apollo Optik, E-Plus/Base, various eating places and much more …
Project development starts with a good idea – and a good sense of intuition. We check both thoroughly to ensure they are reliable.
